AI— a Tiny Glimpse of How Great God Is
Psalm 147: 5 (NIV) Great is our Lord and mighty power; His understanding has no limit.
Hebrews 13: 8 (NIV) Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
A Small Ex. of God’s Greatness Compared to AI
For all of us who use Chat GPT and other AI applications, I wanted to share a small picture of appreciation of how great the God of the universe is. In my own words, I’m just a human with less than an ant brain compared to God. I like to find ways to remind myself that He is so much bigger than I could ever understand.
I use Chat GPT for dozens of things in daily life. It’s incredible how you can ask it anything and get pretty accurate information a lot of the time— in seconds (use Biblical wisdom and good discernment with AI just like using any tool). You can use it to help budget your grocery shopping, make recipes out of ingredients you have, find information, make schedules, reply to that weird email you’re not sure how to respond to, and on and on. I’m not a super techy person, so I never imagined having this kind of tool in my lifetime.
God Doesn’t Just Know— He Loves
If Chat can really wow us, how much more should we stand in total awe of the God who never guesses and never gets it wrong?! Not only does He know everything down to the number of hairs on your head, He knows every thought and action you’ve ever had and will have. And He knew all of that before He created Adam and Eve. AI can process information. But God loves and cares for the person asking the question in a way that we can’t truly fathom until we’re face to face with Him. Because He is perfection— He can never change. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. If you really let that sink in, you should be mind blown, even if you’ve pondered on these truths before.
Reminder of Waiting Seasons
Now, I have been guilty of wanting God to be like Chat in the way that you ask a question and get an immediate answer. But thats a different topic for another post. In short, when you actively lean in to the Lord in the waiting seasons, you learn more about His character. Your faith roots grow deeper. Reminder to self: don’t wish away the waiting seasons! God’s way is always better.

Prayer
Lord, no tool on earth compares to you. Grow my self control and faith in the waiting, give me a heart of deeper awe for you, and help me to trust in your timing. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Thank you for this post! I take great comfort in knowing the unchanging character of Jehovah—He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. As you mentioned, He knows everything about me—past, present, and future—and yet He still desires an intimate relationship with me. That is truly a mind-bender!
My prayer is that more people will lean into God and be intentional about maintaining a strong, discerning boundary when it comes to AI. I believe it can be used as part of the enemy’s plan to distract us from the LORD, and we must remain spiritually aware and grounded in Him.
Blessing in Him, Jody
So well said! Thank you so much for your comment! Happy New Year!
